ME: Lord how do you think? How do you craft out your plans? How do you keep leaving me wowed every single time by your acts? How do you see? I don’t just get it!!!

God: Have you forgotten I am God? The one who called light out of darkness, the one who saw Beauty in a world that was empty, void and shapeless…..

God again: The question is how far can you see?

This has been the thought in my head. Let’s look at the book of Genesis.

Genesis 13:14-17 ( voice translation)

After Lot had moved away, the Eternal spoke to Abram.

Eternal One: Look around you now, as far as you can see to the north, south, east, and west. All of the land you see is for you and your descendants to possess forever. I will make your descendants as many as there are specks of dust on the earth. If anyone could count the dust of the earth, then he could also count how many descendants I’m talking about! Go on now, and walk the entire expanse of the land, for you need to see what I am giving you!

For the sake of those who don’t know this story I will give a brief explanation. God called Abraham and asked him to leave his fathers house, Abraham was 75 years old at that time ( am here wondering what a man is still doing in his fathers house at the age of 75). Abraham obeyed and he took his wife Sarah, his nephew Lot, and all of their flocks and herds. The Bible records that both men were very wealthy. They left to a land called Canaan and not too long that they had arrived, a famine arose in that land. Because they both had a whole lot of livestock the grassland wasn’t enough for them anymore which led to fights between Abraham and Lot’s servants. Long story short Abraham called Lot and asked him to choose any portion of the land he wanted so peace could reign. Being the smart guy that Lot thought he was, he chose the most fertile part of the land where there was enough water and grassland ( honestly I don’t blame him because most of us would do the same). Lot left with his wife, his two daughters, servants, and his herd to this new land. Abraham was left with a land which was practically barren speaking from the physical and human point of view.

The land wasn’t just barren but guess who was barren also, Sarah Abraham’s wife

So here was Abraham in a barren land, with a barren wife, a nephew that played him and left to another land. And then God began speaking to him, asking him to look as far as he can see, to the north, east, west and south, telling him he will give him all of the land including his descendants

Hold on there God what “descendant” are you talking about? You do know Sarah is barren right? And she is way past childbearing age, by the way who even wants a barren land?

Hmmmmm if only we could see things through God’s eyes and just trust him enough to lead the way. Did you know the land Lot chose was marked by God for destruction because their sins were just too much? Lot did not see that coming he was too shortsighted to see just like we can be. As foolish as what God said sounded, He brought His word to pass Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90years old when they had Isaac their son. Even Sarah laughed at God when he said she was going to conceive. you and I are descendants of Abraham.

1st Corinthians 1:25

You can count on this: God’s foolishness will always be wiser than mere human wisdom, and God’s weakness will always be stronger than mere human strength.

When you begin to see things the way God sees them even your relationship with other humans will be automatically changed, you will begin to see others as equal to you not lower than you because God sees every single one of us as dear and precious in his sight. Seeing things through God’s eyes gives us a greater sense of purpose, we just know there is more that he expects from us, we no longer get scared or frustrated or angry when things don’t go the way we want because all we can now see is the Bigger picture and that bigger picture is Gods point of view

So many of us have a 20/20 vision physically but a 0/20 vision spiritually

My prayer today is that God will open your eyes and my eyes to see what He is seeing, and not just to see but to also walk in the light of what He is revealing to us.

Have a blessed week ahead

Stay motivated…..

  1. so true majority of the times we want to be in control of every happening in our life because of what we think we see. Ignoring the fact we are not the authors of our life. beautiful writeup
