While I was at the gym yesterday I had a conversation with someone really special to me, the conversation had to do with adulting. I have a blog post on adulting and you can click here to read. Towards the end of our conversation he said we have to be really thankful to our parents, they might not have given us everything we wanted but they did their best and continue doing their best.
I can only imagine the number of sleepless nights my parents had just because of me, the times when they had to do the most inconvenient things just to see that I lack nothing…every time I had a need, I never had to think twice about calling my dad or mum somehow I knew that need would be solved.
To my Dad and mum, to every good and present parent reading this and even those who might never get to read this article I just want you to know you are very much appreciated… Thank you for nurturing and taking care of us, thank you for being a shoulder we could lean on, thank you for every tears we never got to see, thank you for holding the home together, thank you for smiling even when we could clearly see you were in pain, thank you for putting us first and forgetting about yourself, thank you for always cheering us on, thank you for making us feel like we had the world even if just a penny was left in your pockets, thank you for raising a strong fearless well mannered and God loving daughter like me, no one could have done it any better than you guys did.
I have always been appreciative of my parents but as I get older it is like I am getting to see things more clearly, I do not even have kids or a husband yet but it feels like the world is on my shoulders hmmm all I can say is thank God for growth.
For those who never had a parent figure to look up to, I don’t know what that feels like but I assure you that things will get better and if by any chance you decide to have a family of yours someday, you will be the best parent and spouse ever, There is so much good in you.
Do something nice today, tomorrow and for the rest of your life… Thankfulness isn’t just a one day thing, it is a lifetime thing. let your parents, friends, spouse kids etc. know you love and appreciate them.
Have a great day ahead
